When is enough, well, enough? I had always assumed that when I got my braces off in high school that I would forever be rid of the orthodontist and braces and the teenage rite of passage.
Of course, that was, until I turned 29. I decided to go have my back tooth replaced, that ironically fell out because of braces as a teenager. Since time had passed, I had to get referred to for orthodontics to open up the space. Which, I had filled in college because I had to get sinus surgery to get the implant. Well, I had the surgery in October and the implant is in, minus the tooth.
If you're confused at this point, well, so was I. But, when I went in to the orthodontist, imagine my shock and horror to learn that I'm deformed! My lower jaw is too short/too far back or whatever and my upper jaw is too long...gum disease and jaw problems were foreseen in my future. It seemed that each time I went to the new specialist, another flaw was discovered. So back to my original question, when is enough enough?
I guess it's not enough until you get to the results that you expect. I just started down the road yesterday. I had spacers put in to prep my mouth for braces! Another 2 year journey has begun. More to come.
